Okay, ladies and gentlemen, it is that time again and welcome to Morning Mindset. I am your host Paul Markel. Thank you, once again for making this show a part of your day. I truly appreciate that. Today, we're going to talk about trusting your coach. I’ve talked about coaches and structures and mentors in the past, and I hope that you're familiar with those episodes.

-

I hope that if you listen to those that that you remember now if you didn't listen to the episode about coaches and mentors of the great thing about on-demand audio is what? You can go back and listen to it, right? Exactly. You can- oh before I get started. I wanted to give you guys a quick update. I mentioned earlier on, I'm not even sure what it was, but I mentioned earlier on uh that I am working on a book, a Morning Mindset book, and it's actually going to be kind of a combination of a daily devotional and study guide. For a more positive and productive life.

-

Now. The book is been written. It's been proved and now we're doing cover design. So that's where we are. If you were wondering you're like, “Hey Paul, you said you're going to do this book and you know, it's been several weeks.” I know, people sometimes are very impatient. They're like, “Man, you said four weeks ago. You were gonna do that book and it's not out yet”, have some patience. Uh, but we are planning on releasing that this summer. So the Morning Mindset book, it's in the cover design stage and after that it'll be formatted and it will be made for release this want to give you guys a quick heads up.

-

All right, let's talk about coaches trusting your coach. First of all, I hope that if you have a coach that you have enough faith in your coach. To trust them. This is a very very important thing many people will go out and they will seek advice we talk to you know to talk previously about ask holes ASX people who will seek advice and then instantly ignore the advice that they're given.

But if you went out and you secured a coach whether it's a business coach or a fitness coach or a life coach or uh a voice coach or a music coach. I don't care, uh, you know and athletic coach you found someone that is supposed to help you on your way. I would hope that you have enough faith in that person to trust them when they give you advice or when they give you Direction.

-

And it's easy to trust your coach when things are going well when you're feeling happy when you're feeling fit when you're feeling uh, like you're accomplishing and you're meeting your goals. When what everything is going great. It's easy to listen to your coach. Everything's great and I feel good and rock on Coach, but that's not when you need to listen to your coach the most.

-

When you need to listen to your coach, it's when times are tough when you're tired when you are frustrated when you just want to quit and give up that is when you need to trust your coach because anybody can do it when it's easy. It doesn't matter what it is whether it's business or music or Fitness or whatever.

-

Anybody can do what's easy that doesn't require a lot of effort when it's hard when it's tough when you don't want to do it when that devil is up on your shoulder and the devil says I'm tired. I don't want to do this anymore. I quit the devil will get on your shoulder and he'll tell you. You've done a pretty good job up to this point.

-

You're tired. You're frustrated. You don't want to do it. Just go ahead and quit and that's when you need to not listen to the words of that devil on your shoulder instead. You need to listen to the words of your coach because if he's a good coach or she is a good coach if that person is a coach that is worth their weight, then they will know how to get more out of you.

-

Then you have ever done a good coach will force you to give more effort than you originally planned on giving a good coach will see the potential in you they will see that you can give them more than what you thought. You could give them a good coach will drive you. Now when I was in the Marine Corps, when I was in basic training, I had drill instructors and they weren't called coaches, but they really were they were coaches and we trusted them.

-

That was something about Marine Corps basic training least when I was in the people who were put in charge of you the drill instructors. These were like demigods. You never saw them sit down. You never saw them eat you never saw them go to the bathroom. They were like these, uh, you know, like I said demigods or robots or Androids.

-

It didn't require things that mere mortals required. They didn't require sleep or food or bathroom breaks. You never saw that but you trusted them now you had to because it's the military but one of the things that our coaches as drone structures that got me through was the obstacle course. The Marine Corps basic training obstacle course now at the end of the obstacle course is the hardest thing you will need to do the Rope climb.

-

You have to climb. I don't know how high the Rope is 30 feet. I don't know. It's it's a tall rope. And when we first marched by the obstacle course before we even done it I saw how it was set up. And we walked from the end towards the beginning we marched from and I looked and I saw the ropes and then I saw the walls and the bear and the the logs and all of the obstacles that you had to go over and in my mind because I wasn't Marine yet.

-

I thought that you would do the hardest thing first that you would climb the Rope first and then you would do the rest. Oh, no, that's not the way the Marine Corps is you do the easier stuff first and then when you get when you're exhausted when you get all the way to the end of the obstacle course, they've got one more thing for you to do and it's climbed to the top of the rope.

-

And the first time I tried to do it the first time we ran the obstacle course like week one or week 2 of basic training I couldn't get up that rope. They taught us how they showed us out. I couldn't get up that rope, but we didn't quit and we kept doing it and eventually I'd listen to them. I listen to what my coaches who were my drill instructors.

-

They told us how to do it. They showed us the techniques and they encouraged us not to quit. Let me tell you what. When I finished that obstacle course and I got all the way to the top and I touched that board and I yelled out my my name serial number. My senior drill instructors name then crazy stuff.

-

They make you do. I was pretty proud of myself and I was glad that I listened. I was glad that I didn't quit even though it was tough, even though it was hard even though I was frustrated and the devil said just lay down and quit this is too hard. So when it's tough, When you're tired, when the devil climbs up on your shoulder and says just quit that ladies and gentlemen, that is when you need to trust your coach more than ever.

-

That's when you need to listen to the words of your coach because they're going to get more out of you than you realize you can give. All right that is it for today all done. I hope you guys have a fantastic week a fantastic weekend. I am your host Paul Markel. I'll talk to you again, real soon.
